Collaboration, 19x27, acrylic, resin, aluminum. I picked up my artwork this weekend from the gallery and brought it home. I had some pieces that I felt that I no longer was connected to and I’ve selected a few to paint over. This piece was a resin piece that I painted over and I left some of the resin underneath there to come through. It was a collaboration of mediums.

”Life inspires me to make art… everything about it…the joys, the victories, the struggle, loss…everything. Creating art, for me, is an extension from journaling in my notebook, only I do it on a canvas… or a musical instrument. I am very committed to my morning ritual of solitude, drinking a glass of water with a prebiotic powder, meditation, tapping, writing… oh and I light a candle and incense. My creative day has become even more sacred since Covid-19, as it provides me refuge, sanity, and a place to disperse and transform any stress or worry about the present-day circumstances.”

Aftermath is the name of this new collection of wo

Aftermath is the name of this new collection of work I have been creating. I love working with the texture of the paint. Like resin, working in this medium is definitely a collaboration since the paint creates its own design when mixed and sculpted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started out with smaller pieces and now I am working on larger works. Very soon they will all be up on my website under projects, “Aftermath,” So please feel free to check out what is there now…they are for sale and I’m excited for them to find their collectors and embellish their spaces. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like all of us, I am evolving, and as I do, so does my work. I’m taking more chances, being more willing to make mistakes and course correct. While there is a depth to this work, it is coming from a place of lightness… one that comes after delving into the darker parts of ourselves. I hope you see the light in them too!
