Salon Chair Diaries
Yet, it is in this loneliness that the deepest activities begin. It is here that you discover act without motion, labor that is profound repose, vision in obscurity, and, beyond all desire, a fulfillment whose limits extend to infinity.
Thomas Merton
This is a series I started a few years ago and is still in progress. Finding subjects is not always easy, but I love when the most unusual suspects agree to be my subjects.

The components for the subjects are: they’re almost naked, holding a photography book I own and they are sitting under the retro salon hair dryer I used in the installation for Beauty and Wisdom in gallery.
I know it’s a lot to ask of people so I’m always honored and grateful and in the end, I think even the subject has fun.
There’s no way I could be as introspective as I am sometimes, and not insert some lighthearted fun and juxtaposition into the mix.
